Paris Fashion Week: Fall/Winter 2014-2015.

Paris Fashion Week brought forth the most anticipated show of the entire fashion season: Nicolas Ghesquiere’s debut as the creative director at the house of Vuitton. It marked a sea of change for the house as chic pragmatism that Ghesquiere is known for reigned with a more modern and simplistic collection for fall 2014. Zuhair Murad continued his exploration with the insect world from Couture 2014- particularly on butterflies. And Alessandro Dell’Acqua infused his Rochas debut with a hefty dose of fashion. These are some of the trends Paris has to offer Fall/Winter 2014.

Trapeze Shapes. Trapeze shapes looked fresh and loose at Maison Rabih Kayrouz, Hermes, and Lanvin.

One Arm. Leonard, Maxime Simoens, and Balmain continued with the asymmetry theme that’s been rampant on Parisian runways with one arm dresses and shirts.

Head To Toe Knits. Knitwear was a big story at Nina Ricci, Chanel, Balenciaga and Hermes.

Leopard Print. Givenchy, Balmain, Celine and Saint Laurent added a jungle vibe to Fall/Winter 2014 collections with a focus on Leopard prints.

Peplum. Peplums flared out gently at Giambattista Valli, Balmain, Rochas and Andrew Gn.

Stripes. Dries Van Noten, H&M, put forth collections steeped in bold swirls.

Dropped Waists. Silhouettes were long and languid with dropped waists from John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Viktor + Rolf.

Tiers. Skirts were romantically whimsical as they tumbled down in tiers at Lanvin, Emanuel Ungaro, Rochas and Guy Laroche.

Velvet. Chanel, Elie Saab, and Saint Laurent showcased velvety creations in little black dresses and gowns.

Asymmetric Hems. Christian Dior, Nina Ricci, Viktor + Rolf featured a lot of wavering asymmetrical to blunt hemlines on skirts and dresses.
