How To Do Sequins Right.

Sequinned dresses are a no-brainer when it comes to stealing the spotlight, whether it’s on the red carpet or at a party. Their festive sparkle is celebratory, while the shine is attention grabbing. Beauties like Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Taylor Swift have hit the scene in gowns that steal the show. So why not sparkle a little yourself this holiday season?
Here are tips guaranteed to have you shining bright this holiday season and the celebrities who wear sequins right.

Ruler-Shaped:
Look for details like subtly padded shoulders or peplum to add curves to your figure.

Petite.
Choose a fit-and-flare style with a short hemline that will elongate your legs. Strappy heels or pointy-toe pumps will further lengthen your figure.
DON'T wear a tea-length hemline. Instead, opt for a knee-length hem (or go even shorter to show off your legs!)

Busty.
Opt for dresses with structured bodices that will show off your neckline, without revealing too much.
DON'T choose halter-style dresses: The lack of support will make for a droopy look.

Pear-Shaped.
Look for styles with plunging necklines that draw the eye to your upper body. Add a skinny belt at your waist and choose a style where the skirt skims the lower body in a gentle A-line.
DON'T go for bandage-style dresses. Instead, choose styles with details that focus on your neckline and waist.

From L-R: Solange Knowles, Jennie Garth and Kim Kardashian

Hourglass.
Exaggerate your tiny waist with broad shoulders and a flouncy hemline.
DON'T cover up your best asset - that trim waistline. Instead, show it off with an awesome belt.

From L-R: Hanna Nitsche, Jenny McCarthy, Ginnifer Goodwin and Nelly Furtado

Curvy.
Choose wrap-style dresses that show off your neckline, while cinching in your waist. Sequins don't always have to be metallic; matte and black paillettes are more subtle choices that still add interest.
DON'T hide your shape. Instead, look for a swing style dress that flares out under the bust line creating an A-line. And don't be afraid to hike up that hemline to show off your legs!
