Head To Toe Lace. Lace continues to be a favorite with designers, although the styling lesson from Resort 2014 would be to create a head to toe look through layering.

Pleats. Pleats were more refined for resort, used for everything from pants, languid summer dresses to dramatic evening gowns.

Sheer Blocking. Never mind colour-blocking, Resort 2014 sees sheer blocking step into the limelight.

Opposites Attract. The stark and smart combination of black and white is still making a statement for resort 2014, whether in cool prints or graphic separates.

Gems. The heavily embellished looks that glide down runways all year round were scaled down to 3-D gems that dotted dresses, sweatshirts and coats.
